What Is MOTS-c 10mg?
MOTS-c 10mg is a research peptide from British Dragon Pharmaceuticals. Its active substance is MOTS-c, also listed as Mitochondrial Peptide. Every vial holds 10 mg of lyophilized powder, which you mix with bacteriostatic water before lab work.
Most peptides come from the pituitary or the gut. MOTS-c is different, it comes from the mitochondria, the part of the cell that makes energy. That is why metabolic labs took an interest in it.
Why Researchers Buy MOTS-c 10mg
Lab work with MOTS-c usually covers:
Insulin sensitivity - studied for how cells respond to insulin.
Metabolic regulation - examined in models of energy balance.
Exercise capacity - tested for endurance and muscle fuel use.
Fat oxidation - looked at for how the body burns fat for fuel.
Ageing research - studied because MOTS-c levels fall with age.
All of this is laboratory research. MOTS-c 10mg is not a medicine and is not sold for human use.
Keep the sealed vial cool, dark and dry. After mixing, store it in a fridge between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius and use it within a few weeks. Do not shake the vial, roll it gently between your hands to mix, and keep your tools clean.
Is MOTS-c the same as a mitochondrial peptide? Yes. Mitochondrial Peptide is simply the descriptive name for MOTS-c on product pages.
Do I need a prescription? No. You can buy MOTS-c 10mg without prescription from our shop.
How many amino acids does MOTS-c have? It is a short chain of 16 amino acids, which is why it counts as a peptide rather than a protein.

Key facts
Approval status
A peptide made in the mitochondria; there is no FDA-approved dose or clinical protocol
Usual route
Injection under the skin (subcutaneous)
Sports testing
USADA lists MOTS-c as an experimental drug, so no therapeutic use exemption is possible; the WADA 2026 Prohibited List applies from January 1, 2026
Possible side effects
Reactions at the injection spot, changes in energy, poor sleep, swings in blood sugar
Do not use if
Pregnant, breastfeeding, with a history of cancer, with organ impairment, or a tested athlete
Combining with other products
Using it together with GLP-1 drugs, stimulants, thyroid medication, or other peptides makes side effects harder to trace

How the math works
1. Find the concentration
Divide the peptide in the vial by the water added. For example, 10 mg ÷ 2 mL = 5 mg/mL
2. Work out the volume
Divide the dose by the concentration. For example, 5 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 1 mL
3. Convert to units
On a U-100 syringe, multiply the mL by 100. For example, 1 mL = 100 units
4. Check the syringe
Make sure the amount fits the syringe you are using
Worked example
Vial
10 mg MOTS-c
Water
2 mL bacteriostatic water
Dose
5 mg
Syringe
100 units (1 mL)
Concentration
10 mg ÷ 2 mL = 5 mg/mL
Amount to draw
5 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 1 mL, which is 100 units on a U-100 syringe
Doses in the vial
10 mg ÷ 5 mg = 2 doses
Vial size vs dose
A vial marked "10 mg" holds 10 mg in total before it is mixed. It is not a single dose, and it does not mean you use the whole vial. The amount per dose depends on how much water you add and what your clinician prescribes. For example, 10 mg mixed with 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL, so a 2.5 mg dose is 0.5 mL, which is 50 units on a U-100 syringe.

Reconstitution & Storage
Mixing a peptide takes about a minute. Keeping it good afterwards is the part most people get wrong, so follow the guide below and then store the vial the way we describe underneath it.
How to Reconstitute
Follow the five steps in the guide above. Bring the vial and the diluent to room temperature first, add the bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall so it does not foam and swirl gently until the powder is fully dissolved. Never shake the vial and never spray the bacteriostatic water straight onto the powder.
How to Store the Mixed Peptide
Once it is mixed, the vial goes back in the refrigerator at 2 to 8°C (35.6°F to 46.4°F) and stays there until you have used it. Write the mixing date on the vial so the clock is visible, not remembered.
Temperature: a normal fridge, 2 to 8°C (35.6°F to 46.4°F). Not the freezer, not a kitchen cupboard.
Shelf life: about 4 weeks. Past 28 days, discard it.
Light: keep it in the box or a dark drawer. Direct light degrades peptides.
Handling: swab the stopper before each draw, use a fresh needle and never shake the vial. Swirl gently if it needs mixing.
Freezing: do not freeze a mixed solution. Ice crystals and freeze-thaw cycles cut potency.
Dispose if: the liquid turns cloudy, changes colour, or shows visible particles.
Unmixed powder is far easier to store. Keep it dry, out of light, at room temperature for short periods or at -20°C for the long term and reconstitute only what you plan to use.
